Why Send Staff and Volunteers to Turadh?
To prevent burnout. A week at Turadh can help someone press pause, remember why they do their work, and recover the energy to keep going.
For recognition. If you are supporting staff to do work that sometimes feels both relentless and thankless, a stay a Turadh is a way of letting them know you see and value what they do and want to ensure they are looking after themselves too.
It’s a very straightforward form of support. No lengthy applications, no bureaucracy. Just confirm the person works or volunteers with you, and we'll take care of the rest.
Who Is Welcome
We are here to support anyone working, in any capacity, for the common good in Scotland. In 2025, we welcomed guests working in the following sectors:
Food banks and advice centres
Women's refuges and domestic abuse services
Refugee and asylum support organisations
Mental health charities
Environmental community groups
Youth services and children's charities
Addiction recovery services

Community development organisations
Housing support services
Environmental community groups
Social enterprises
Community arts and activism

Your organisation can choose to fund the stay (typically £200-350 per week), or the team member can contribute what they're able to on our sliding scale. Apply here →
Nominate Someone for a Weary Angel Gift Stay
If there is someone in your team who gives and gives to others and then forgets to look after themselves, consider nominating them for a Weary Angel gift stay. The nomination takes just a few minutes. We handle everything else, including letting them know they've been nominated and arranging their stay. Nominate a Weary Angel →

What Our Partners Say
"We've sent six staff members to Turadh over the past year. Every single one came back lighter, clearer, and more connected to why they do this work. It's the best investment we've made in staff wellbeing." — Chief Executive, National Health Charity, Edinburgh
"As an organisation supporting those struggling with poverty, we can't afford fancy staff benefits. We are so grateful to be able to send one of our Food Bank Managers to Turadh every few weeks. It makes a such huge difference to morale." — Manager, Trussell Network
"Turadh helped us support a staff member who was on the edge of burnout. They arranged for her to stay at very short notice and she came back renewed and is still with us two years later. Without that break, I honestly think we'd have lost one of our best people." — Director, Refugee Welcome Centre, Glasgow
"We include Turadh stays as part of our staff wellbeing offer. It sends a clear message to our team about how much we value them." — CEO, Youth Services Organisation, Highlands
"We didn't have a formal partnership—we just got in touch when our project manager was running on empty. The process was so straightforward, and the impact was profound." — Lead, Small Environmental Charity, Borders
